So the story goes like this:
The family of my great grand father was Turkish Greeks, they lived in Crimea until they got deported by Stalin to Ukrainian inland on-shore area on the Azov sea. There thousands of Greek families have created a settlement which can be translated into English like “The Great New Re-settlement” district, they have preserved their traditions, costumes and local cuisine of course. The family of my grandpa was then forced out of their homes in 2014, and currently everyone is dispersed everywhere, but the recepy lives on and on.. And we cook out family varenyky and remember all those due to whom we are here.
