On lake Tonle Sap in Cambodia there are some floating villages, inhabited among others by a Vietnamese minority, not allowed to buy any land. I get through the houses on a boat. When they say floating, they mean it.
Water has the main role in every aspect of life, from washing the clothes to fishing, main activity. The family take part in preparing the food.
Having a boat is the only way to move around or to land, at any age.
People around smile and wave, but sometimes some more privacy is needed.
But hey… living on a floating house doesn't allow you to skip the floating school!
